Thame Community Shed goes on the road

Last weekend, several members of Thame Community Shed attended the Thame Charity Fair which is an event hosted by Thame Town Council, allowing charities such as ourselves the opportunity to reach out to the good people of Thame and tell them what we do.
The event is held inside the Town Hall, which is very fortunate because the weather was appalling. It was fortunate that it wasn’t outside because we may have ended up with less members, rather than gain any new ones.
It is also an opportunity to raise money by selling products and, even though the footfall was a lot less than we hoped for we still manager to take almost £100 to add to our coffers.

Whilst we were a little disappointed that, because of the weather, we didn’t see as many people as we hoped, it was an enjoyable morning and, because Punita was running an adjacent stall on behalf of the Girl Guides, who were making tea and coffee, we were well refreshed. (Just like a normal day at the Shed really, but without the sawdust)
Many thanks to the members who put in the time and effort to make all of our wares, and those who came along on the day to support us. We will be selling the rest of our items in the Shed over the next couple of weeks (nice Christmas Presents!) as well as a couple of local craft markets in Winslow and Lopemede Farm.
